The devotees of Sri Ramakrishna, being inspired by Swami Vivekananda's clarion call for work and worship, service to mankind and self realization, started a private Ashrama in a rented house at Jalpaiguri Town in 1928. This Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jalpaiguri was affiliated in 1941 by the Ramakrishna Mission, P.O- Belur Math, Dist- Howrah, Pin- 711 202, West Bengal, and became one of the most important branch centre of North Bengal
Situated at the foothills of the Sub-Himalayan range, this Ashrama surrounded by lush green fields is a place of natural beauty. The serene atmosphere of this centre attracts devotees from far and near. The beautiful temple and the white marble image of Sri Ramakrishna Deva have created a holy atmosphere.
